The NAVP is widely recognised in the industry for its pivotal role in developing these courses and continues to play an active role in delivering clinical instruction on BSc (level 6) and PgD/MSc (level 7) Veterinary Physiotherapy degrees, and to offer support to veterinary physiotherapy students. The National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists aims to ensure that the highest standards of animal physiotherapy care will be delivered to animals by linking a strong foundation of scientific knowledge with clinical practice and continued research. By choosing a member of NAVP to refer your patients to, you are assured that they:
1. Have qualified via a recognised accredited training programme 2. Carry appropriate professional and public liability insurance 3. Will work closely with you on cases in accordance with current legislation 4. Are required to work within a professional code of conduct and ethics 5. Are required to maintain and enhance their skills post-qualification by completing appropriate programmes of CPD annually in order to be able to maintain their membership status. What are the membership categories 1 & 2?Code of Conduct & Conditions of MembershipThe Categories membership programme was set up to support new members with their career development, as well as a way for the association to check that educational and professional standards of graduates or new members are being met. This enables us to maintain a high standard by picking up on any red flags and offering both support to individual members not quite meeting expectations and to give feedback to the wider industry to improve standards. Once applicants have met the strict criteria for membership they automatically become Cat 2 members for a period of one year. After a year members must apply for Cat 1 with an accompanying letter from a vet in support of their application along with two case studies. The programme has been received very positively by members and para-professionals.
