Profile
Ruben Marshall
I am a fully qualified Veterinary Physiotherapist with a Master’s degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy, specialising in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of equine and canine patients.
My clinical approach focuses on identifying underlying biomechanical dysfunction, including asymmetry, compensation patterns, and reduced range of motion, to support both performance optimisation and injury prevention.
I have a keen interest in performance horses, with over 10 years in the industry. I'm passionate about all aspects of horses in regular work, as well as rehabilitation cases requiring structured return-to-work programmes.
Alongside clinical practice, I have undertaken research investigating the effects of physiotherapeutic interventions on equine performance parameters, further supporting an evidence-based approach to treatment.
I also have a particular interest in rehabilitative physiotherapy in dogs. Whether that be recovery from standard joint replacements, to more complex surgeries, I enjoy working towards a recovery goal with my patients, and the joy it brings when we reach it.
My aim is to help horses and dogs move and perform at their best through a structured, proactive approach to physiotherapy.
I work closely with owners, riders, and trainers to identify subtle changes in movement and performance before they develop into more significant issues.
Rather than purely reactive treatment, my focus is on consistent management and supporting horses in work, guiding rehabilitation, and maintaining long-term soundness.
I offer a range of physiotherapy packages tailored to the individual, including performance maintenance, rehabilitation, and return-to-work programmes, alongside detailed assessment sessions to establish a clear baseline of function.
I understand the demands of managing horses in work, and aim to provide practical, effective treatment plans that fit within real-world yard routines while delivering measurable results.
