Laura Allmark
Full member
Laura graduated from Aberystwyth University with an Honours degree in Equine Science, completing a master’s thesis on the effects of poor saddle fit on equine locomotion. This sparked a lifelong fascination with the musculoskeletal system and led her to pursue a postgraduate Master’s degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy at Harper Adams University, which she completed in 2014. Her time at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals ignited a passion for early post‑operative rehabilitation—an interest that has continued to shape her career since joining Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists in 2017.
Laura is Head of the Veterinary Physiotherapy Service, where she leads the rehabilitation team within a multidisciplinary small‑animal referral hospital. She works closely with the orthopaedic and neurology services to support dogs through post‑operative recovery, injury management, and complex musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Laura has a strong interest in evidence‑based rehabilitation, exercise prescription, and service development, and is passionate about collaborative care that enhances patient comfort, function, and long‑term quality of life.
Alongside her referral‑hospital work, Laura continues to collaborate with local equine veterinarians across Hampshire, maintaining a varied caseload and a continued connection to her equine roots.
