Katherine Brown qualified as a Veterinary Physiotherapist in 2016 from Writtle College University and in 2018 she completed a dissertation in biomechanics leading to a Master of Science degree, the highest level of qualification in the field. After time in practice she was extremely lucky to be awarded the South East Prestige Award Vet Physio of the year in 2021 and 2024.
During training to be a vet physio she undertook physiotherapy placements at specialist vet practices including the Royal Veterinary College and Anderson Abercromby Veterinary Referrals, gaining expert experience on orthopaedics and neurology. Katherine Brown is also a qualified Animal Sports Massage Therapist with EBW and uses massage in physiotherapy appointments.
The combination of physiotherapy training, placements and practical experience granted Katherine Brown membership to National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists. As a fully qualified and insured veterinary physiotherapist she is regulated by NAVP who enforce a strict code of conduct, 25 hours CPD reach year and disciplinary procedures. Since qualifying Katherine has done further study in K taping for animals, attended international conferences delivered by world leaders in their fields and undertaken advanced training in joint mobilisations.
Katherine is very fortunate to work closely with local vets across West Sussex. She has treated many interesting veterinary referrals over the years including fractures, all sorts of joint conditions and neurological issues. As well as the clinical cases she is also lucky to work with some excellent dog trainers in the area and treats gun dogs, agility dogs and animals competing at international level.
When not working at KB Vet Physio, Katherine enjoys spending time with her Border Collie Sid doing agility and going for long walks She previously competed in BS and BE, but recently swapped to smaller 4 legged pets. Katherine Brown feels truly lucky to work in such a rewarding and challenging field as Veterinary Physiotherapy and gains huge satisfaction in seeing the improvements her patients.
Katherine covers treating horses across West Sussex and see her small animal patients at the practice in Pulborough. She also does laser therapy appointments alongside physiotherapy.
