Discounted Balens Insurance Scheme for Members - 2023 Documents

If you wish to make any changes to your website listings (to change your contact information, if you have upgraded to a full MSc qualification from a PgDip, and/or if you have changed the species you treat or the regions you work in), please complete the following form in full and email it to the secretary: [email protected].
The files below were emailed out to members in January. Please ensure that you complete and return the necessary paperwork in time for the deadlines: the new renewal document with CPD activity included, and a copy of your insurance certificate must all be E-MAILED in by the 1st March 2023 and fees must also be paid by this date at the latest.
1. Complete the renewal document, highlighting any changes to your contact details or website address. Please complete all sections of the form to include your list of CPD activities.
2. You need to submit the completed renewal form along with a copy of your insurance certificate (CPD certificates / evidence are NOT to be submitted at this stage - CPD will be audited by NAVP over the next 12 months and so these are only to be submitted if you are specifically requested to during the audit).
3. The completed form and your insurance certificate both need to be scanned (not photographed) and appropriately named e.g. 'Ann Smith Renewal Document' and 'Ann Smith Insurance'.
4. Send the two files together on the same e-mail to the renewals address: [email protected]. Please note that this renewal email is set up to collate these documents only and will not respond to any queries. Therefore if you have any questions about the renewals process please contact the NAVP secretary Laura Stevens as normal on [email protected].
5. Pay your membership fee via BACS following the instructions on the invoice document below.
It will take approximately a week to check your documents and payment. Once this has been done you will be issued with a new membership certificate for the next 12 months.

Graduate members
If you graduated in 2022 you do not need to have completed any additional CPD during that year, but you will still need to fill out the CPD activity part of the renewal form with the current date and in the 'activity' column please just write "graduated August 2022" for example.
You will need to begin CPD starting from 1st March 2023.
If you are a graduate member and are completing the MSc research year this will count as CPD, but you must still fill in the CPD activity section with the current date and in the 'activity' column please write your start and estimated completion dates along with the proposed title e.g. "MSc research starting January 2023, estimated completion January 2024, title: ...……".

The date for the online AGM this year will be 15th March 2023 at 7pm. Please also ensure that you have replied regarding the AGM before the deadline even if unable to attend this year, and any agenda items and/or nominations for the executive will also need to be emailed in to Laura along with your AGM booking form to [email protected] before 1st March 2023.
