The NAVP Executive Team are here to support and champion our members.
We want to provide clear communication to our membership about the direction of travel of the organisation and to answer questions or queries that anyone may have.
In order to achieve this, we are looking to further professionalise NAVP and add new skillsets and expertise to ensure the organisation can run smoothly and give full value to our members.

The newest recruit to our Executive Team is Katie Haselhurst…so who is Katie and what is her role?

Tell us about your role with NAVP
I’ve taken up the role as NAVP Secretary, so my job is quite varied. A big part of my focus will be on shaping how the NAVP works for its members. It’s really important that we develop the onboarding and application process for our members so it is smooth and efficient, and I’ll be taking charge of that.
Communication is also a big area of focus – I will be contactable on email to our members. So, I will be the designated and dedicated point of contact to answer any questions or queries quickly and effectively.

CPD is another real priority. NAVP prides itself on providing high-quality CPD for its members, so ensuring people are aware of those opportunities and can get signed up to them is really important.
On top of that, we have a new website in development, new branding and a new line of merchandise and I’ll be helping with all of those exciting things.

Tell us about your career to date and why you joined NAVP
I have had quite a bit of variety in my career so far. I’ve been a PA in a number of different industries from concierge to coaching to audiobooks.
I love being outdoors, I adore animals and I love helping people. So, I felt that this role with the NAVP combined all of those things.

What is your favourite animal?
It’s impossible to name just one! I have two dogs, a cat, a rabbit and a hamster and I love them all! My dogs are called Rosie and Percy, my cat’s name is Tigger, Pixie and Penny are the rabbit and hamster.

Aside from looking after the menagerie of animals, what do you do in your spare time?
I love being outdoors, taking the dogs for a walk and exploring nature. I enjoy yoga and meditation and every year I direct our village panto so that keeps me busy.

Why did you want to join NAVP?
I think it's a really friendly group of people that are all working towards the same goal. They all want to help encourage each other and that’s a really lovely thing to be part of.
It's a common thread that everybody shares their love of animals so it’s just a brilliant organisation to be involved with.
